واقع المرأة المعيلة للأسرة في لبنان
This study deals with the status of woman head of household in Lebanon. Women heads of households refer to women who are caring for their families, managing household affairs by themselves, bearing the family burden, and trying to balance between their maternity responsibilities and the meet of their family’s needs, due to the absence of the family’s head for many reasons such as: death, divorce, imprisonment and travel. The goal of this study is to demonstrate the economic, social, and psychological challenges that women heads of households face in the Lebanese society, as well as determining how various variables (age, marital status, region, nationality, employment status, educational level, and family size) impact the degree of difficulty these housewives face in this situation. At this end, we used a descriptive analytical technique with an intentional cluster sample of 912 women at the national level in 9 governorates. The demographic parameters, economic status, marital status, and psychological state were all covered in the questionnaire. The study’s most notable conclusion is that the variability in residency, the educational level, the occupational status, the social status and the age of the women have a strong and proven statistical significance, indicating the impact of these variables on the family’s economic and psychosocial status. These factors combine to form a composite indication that influences the living status of the family, the woman’s ability to manage her family while meeting its demands, and the quality of life this woman lives.
