أساليب تنمية المهارات الحياتية الخاصة بالوعي المائي لفائدة تلاميذ التعليم الابتدائي بالمغرب من وجهة نظر أولياء الأمور دراسة وصفية تحليلية

The study aimed to identify the methods employed to develop some of the life skills related to water awareness and to assess the difficulties of managing them among elementary school students from the parents’ point of view. It also aimed to measure the difference in perception according to the variables of gender and educational level of the parents (father/mother) and according to the variable of gender for children (male/female) and the variable of the nature of the school (government/private).

The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach using a questionnaire prepared by the researcher and applied to a sample of (280) parents of students in a group of public and private schools located in El jadida Morocco.

The results showed the parents’ agreement on a set of methods for developing life skills among elementary school children, the most important of which are: learning by experience, storytelling, and counting. The study also identified some of the challenges facing parents and teachers in developing life skills among elementary school children, the most important of which are: the impact of social media, the preoccupation of parents and teachers, and the lack of awareness of the importance of developing water awareness skills.

The results did not show any statistically significant differences in parents’ and teachers’ perception of the importance of life skills development methods according to the gender of the parent and child and the teacher. The results showed statistically significant differences in parents’ and teachers’ perception of the importance of water awareness development methods according to their educational qualifications, as the perception of sample members who have higher scientific qualifications and certificates was higher than that of others. The results also showed statistically significant differences in parents’ and teachers’ perception of the importance of water conservation development methods according to the type of school their children attend. The parents’ response to the challenges according to the nature of the school was in favor of those whose children attend public schools, considering that private sector students have a greater awareness of the importance of water conservation.

Based on the above, the study recommended the design of training programs for parents and guardians to deal with methods of developing life skills among elementary school learners and to involve them in activities that aim to promote water conservation.
