مستويات اللغة العربيّة في عصر الرقمنة
Online applications and modern means of communication have been spreading virally around the globe during the last two decades. This phenomenon is leading to the development of new linguistic levels that includes different and intrusive ways of writing. Therefore, it was necessary to study what the Arabic language has become in the era of digitalization and shed light on its current conditions and the challenges it faces. Hence this research, aims to identify the levels of the Arabic language among users of WhatsApp and Facebook.
It was concluded that the colloquial dialect now competes with classical Arabic (fussha) in texting via WhatsApp as it is considered easier, while classical Arabic has maintained being the primary language used on Facebook despite its common errors.
The researcher recommended strengthening Arabic websites and Arabizing software systems, which may help preserve the Arabic language and enhance its use in the era of digitalization and globalization. The research adopted the descriptive method.
