There are many literary arts that require the diligent researcher to stop, contemplate, and study. The theatrical literature is one of these arts that must be highlighted. It is important to know the history of this art, the image it has reached us with, and focus on the early Arab playwrights who paved the way for recognizing a new literary art form. Syria is one of the leading Arab countries in the field of theatre.
This research is to examine the theatrical life in Syria in the period that followed Abu Khalil al-Qabbani, the true founder of Syrian theatre, in addition to introducing the most important Syrian playwrights in that period of time, who had the greatest credit in developing theatrical art in writing, preparation, directing, and acting .
Such as talking about the first playwrights in Syria, such as: Saadallah Wannous, Farhan Bulbul, Barakat, Muhammad Al-Maghout, and many others. The research adopted the descriptive historical method.
