Traditional media: Characteristics and challenges

This study focused mainly on clarifying the concept of traditional media after the emergence of social networks and new media in general that imposed this term. The study also showed the most important characteristics of this media by analyzing them for its main branches: radio, television and the written press. It became clear from our analysis of the subject that the traditional media, in light of the new communication environment, faces great challenges that have significantly reduced its impact on the public.

The research concluded that the characteristics of the traditional media allow their survival and coexistence with the new media on a large disparity influence and persuasion, although the new media have collected all the characteristics of the traditional media and provided new characteristics through which they were able to control the audience and limit the audience of traditional media. Despite all this, the study concluded that the traditional media still maintains some of its audience, although these new media, thanks to their characteristics, took a significant proportion of public opinion trends.
