The role of Quranic Schools in Improving Learning of Arabic

دور الكُتًاب القرآني في تجويد تعَلُّم اللغة العربية

Moroccans have taken a special care of Qu’ranic Schools since the Islamic Opening until the present age. This is due to the strong spiritual connection with the Holy Qu’ran, being edudated and learnt, read and recited, understood and applied. From this point, the Qu’ranic School was the first incubator for the Moroccan child, where s/he learnt the basics of reading and writing, and refined his / her talents of Arabic calligraphy. All this in order to have the core competency of learning the basics of Arabic language and its science.

This article tackles the Quranic School’s status in the Moroccan society, which is considered as a center of cultural and urban radiation. It, moreover, demonstrates the inclusive approach between the Qu’ranic school and modern school, and their integration in making an in charge human being, aiming to restore the centrality of Arabic within the educational system.
