This study aimed at enhancing EFL learners’ motivation to promote learners’ verbal communication skills in Sudanese Universities. To achieve the aims of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method, the sample consisted of (100) teachers who are working at higher education. Questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection. The data was collected through a teachers’ questionnaire and treated by SPSS. The study revealed that some of Sudanese English language teachers do not use the effective strategies of developing and promoting the students’ verbal communication and EFL teachers neglect mastery of phonetics and phonology to facilitate verbal communication skills to learners. The researcher recommended that providing Sudanese Universities with native speakers to improve learners’ proficiency of verbal communication skills. The study suggests to carry a study on the effectiveness of acquiring cultural knowledge to promote verbal communication skills for the learners.
