In the context of the increased risk of national and international crime, Customs, by virtue of its location and area of intervention, is strengthening its vigilance, especially at the border, and is required to ensure the flow of trade. by reconciling securing the national and international logistics chain and facilitating legitimate trade.
The Customs Administration also plays a key role in the development of trade as well as in companies’ cohesion and competitiveness through various measures taken in this context. It also contributes to creating an environment that is attractive to investment and business development by combating all forms of commercial fraud and constantly adapting its airports to companies’ needs and facilitating trade. It also contributes to the protection of citizens by ensuring respect for laws applicable to imports by monitoring technical standards and veterinary and plant health measures, as well as the protection of intellectual property. Then protect the environment, where customs at the border participate in controlling the passage of environmentally harmful substances (toxic waste, ozone-depleting substances, contaminated substances, etc.). Finally, protect and preserve national heritage by combating the illicit export of artworks, collections, antiques or national cultural property.
