Corporate governance and financial performance issue has always been a wide field for study. This study aimed to study the relationship between corporate governance and financial performance in manufacturing industry in Lebanese environment, whether it affects firm’s profitability and returns and minimize risks existence within the firm.
The data of the study was collected through a questionnaire was designed as a Google form document. The questionnaire was distributed through email, 110 responses came back that were then entered into SPSS program for analysis and study. The study came with the following conclusions; that corporate governance do affect firm’s financial performance and the relationship between them is positive since the more emphasis placed from the board of directors on corporate governance the more profitable the firm is and has a negative relation between the risks it face or it might face since the more emphasis placed on corporate governance the less risk the firm face or might face .And since the board of directors is the most stakeholder affecting the corporate governance the study tested if the board size and independence affects firm’s financial performance and results shows that board size doesn’t affect the firm’s performance while boards’ independence do affect the performance.
