The soul and its ranks in the Holy Quran An analytical study –

النفس ومراتبها في القرآن الكريم دراسة تحليلية –

The soul in man is the force of motives and desires for good and evil, and it either raises man to the height of humanity, or places him in the valley of animal depths so that he becomes lower than animals. The Holy Qur’an has discussed and researched the human soul from different angles and explained its reality for man, and assigned to it many verses that express its rise and fall, its motives and inclinations, its temptation and inspiration, its levels and conditions, and it leads to the knowledge of God Almighty. Since the soul does not produce motives and inclinations for good and evil, on one level, but rather has different degrees and stages, and in any way a person uses its motives and inclinations, the soul prepares for it, because it has multiple properties, not like fire that burns and not like water that only has the property of drowning, but The soul is burned, drowned, and saved. Therefore, this article discusses the concept of the soul and its importance in light of the Holy Qur’an, and sheds light on the different levels of the soul and their details in the Holy Qur’an, which are the soul that indicates evil, the inspiring soul, the blameworthy, the reassuring soul, and the ascending and descending paths of the soul. It explains how these ranks reflect the conditions of the soul and its level of development or development. Its condescension and that it has a direct connection to a person’s happiness or misery in this world, as well as his salvation in the afterlife from the fire of hell, depends on the purification of this soul that has been purified of its impurities. The research relied on the descriptive analytical method.
