Water in the Arab East has played a major role in historical events from the dawn of history to the present day, and the Great Rivers region was the cradle of human civilizations, and the scene of most historical events. The conflict in this region continued until the modern era, with the issue of water also affecting the relations between the countries of the region, especially the region of the Tigris and Euphrates basins, and the conflict that erupted between the three countries “Turkey, Iraq and Syria” to share the waters of the two rivers.
Therefore, the issue of water is one of the most important factors influencing the relations between Iraq and Turkey, as both countries depend heavily on the waters coming from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, which made them influential in the Iraqi-Turkish relations. Accordingly, it is necessary to address the water problem from various aspects to know the reasons and motives behind the emergence and development of this problem in the modern era, and the extent of its impact on the relations between the countries of the region, especially the Iraqi-Turkish relations, and try to reach results that serve this problem, and try to find some solutions It is to be a positive factor in improving and developing relations between Iraq and Turkey, and not a factor of tension in these relations, and its repercussions on the region as a whole.
